Privacy Policy

Travely is a mobile app where you share your travels — publish routes, places, photos and videos — and chat with other users in private dialogs: send text, photos, voice messages and round video messages. The app is developed and maintained by an independent individual developer (“we”, “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it and what choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information. When you sign up and set up your profile, you provide your email address, password, nickname, display name and profile photo. Your password is stored only as a cryptographic hash — we never see or store it in plain text.
• Content you create. This includes your travels — routes, places, photos and videos — and messages you exchange with other users (text, photos, voice messages, round video messages), as well as your friends list in the app.
• Location information. These are the places and geotags you add to your travels yourself. The app does not request access to your device location and does not track where you are.
• Technical information. We store your chosen interface language. Standard server logs may contain your IP address and technical details of requests — they are used only to diagnose failures and prevent abuse.
• Support requests. These are the bug reports you send and any screenshots you choose to attach.

2. How We Use Information

• To operate the service: your account, feed, map, chats and notifications.
• To show your content to other users according to the app’s features.
• To keep the service safe: moderation, handling reports, preventing abuse.
• To respond to your support requests.
• To send service emails: the verification code at sign-up and password recovery. We do not send marketing emails.
• To fix bugs and improve the app.

3. How Information Is Shared

• With other users. Your profile and the content you publish are visible to other users according to the app’s features and your settings. Private messages are visible only to their participants.
• With service providers. We use third-party cloud services to run Travely: hosting for our servers and secure storage for photos, videos and other media. These providers process data only to the extent necessary to provide us their services.
• For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required to do so by law.

We do not sell your personal data and do not share it with advertisers. The app contains no third-party advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.

4. Data Storage and Security

All data is transmitted between the app and our servers only over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Passwords are stored only as cryptographic hashes (bcrypt) — we never see or store them in plain text. Message texts are also encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM): the database holds no plain text of your messages, and message search is designed to work without storing it. Media files (photos, videos, voice messages, round video messages) are kept in private cloud storage with no public access and are served only via temporary signed links with a limited lifetime. Our servers may be located outside your country of residence — the same protection measures described here apply to all data regardless of location. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings → Profile → Delete account. Deleting your account removes your profile, published content and messages. You can also request deletion by emailing us; we will respond within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

You may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or request a copy of it. To exercise these rights, email peap20145@gmail.com — we will respond within 30 days. Most of your profile data can be changed directly in the app settings. If you believe your rights have been violated, you may also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your country.

7. Children

Travely is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; if we learn that such an account exists, we will delete it.

8. Cookies

The mobile app does not use cookies. This website stores only your language preference locally in your browser and uses no tracking cookies or analytics.

9. Changes to This Policy

As the service evolves, we may update this Privacy Policy. The current version is always published on this page, with the date of the latest update shown at the top. If changes materially affect your rights, we will notify you in the app. Previous versions of this policy are available on request.
